Yes, that would be the handy work of my oldest 13 yr old son. “But Mom I was just moving a chair (while lying on the ground) and it fell over and crashed through my brother’s window.”
Right now I am sitting here collecting my thoughts watching oldest son, clean my kitchen, making ME lunch, sweeping the patio, vacuuming my front room…while I decided if I will let him live or not. Is this why mother’s eat their young???
It’s only money, right?
And if you think by posting this I am looking for sympathy of being a Mother to all boys, you are right. This is one of the days I want to climb into bed and pull the covers back up. Sigh…
This is only a fly in the ointment right? The sun will come out tomorrow, and all that stuff. But for now now I am enjoying watching him clean his little hiney off =)
I am sorry, but this made me laugh — of course not the fact that you have a broken window — just how you have handeled your son. I think that it is good for him to work a little around the house
Yeah, I believe that the sun will come up again tomorrow, but I know that the Son is always around
Thanks for giving me a littl chuckle at lunch time.
Be blessed today and always.
Milk it for all it’s worth honey! After all,..you are the mom to 3 boys,..you gotta have your fun where you can!
Oh sister I wish so bad I could be there for you because I know you well and what you are feeling right now. Heres a laugh for you today,,, when we were in the store today “O” thought it would be funny to give a old lady we were walking by a spaking right on her hinny. I know the day will come where we will be sipping some sweet wine and laughing about all of this but untill then I love you sis and I miss you so much!!! Love J
(((HUGS )))to you Laurel. I know my time is coming….
Oh Laurel,
I love visiting your house. I wish I lived right next door to you. You always make me smile. Your attitude towards the mundane is precious. Love you, me.

PS. Thanks for fixing my boo-boo. *smile*

Make ‘em pay girl-make ‘em pay.
Have any silver that needs to be polished?
Just joking.
This too will pass.
Mothers of sons, unite! Girl, I think you know you not only have my sympathy, you have my empathy, if you know what I mean. We mothers of sons need a support group or something, because life is certainly interesting here on this side of things!
P.S. I’ve got a few things he can clean if you run out!
Oh man…what a tough time you are having! Boys just cost more money in my opinion…I know where you are coming from because I only have one and he has cost me allot of money!
Blessings
I think this is my firwst time here, though I see we have mutual friends.
My two sons and I are on a road trip (which is making for great posting material) and my wife is getting a week and a half without males in the house.
Sounds like you would enjoy such a break!
God bless
The GOOD thing about this is all the (guilt) work you get out of him! (just a small snicker about the boy’s predictament.)
Yes the sun will come out….can I tell you something that might make you feel a wee bit better?
My daughter, mother of 4 boys and one girl, had a experience of mega dollars worth of groceries in the kitchen floor….just purchased the day before (on a budget) which one of the boys (age 4) decided he needed to make an early morning point (somewhere between 6 a.m. and 6:30) opened packages of pop tarts, boxes of cereal, other breakfast food/snack food and crushed it in the floor…..there. Does that help? Sorry if it doesn’t….bless your precious heart! (window)
Angie
So this is my future, huh?
Oh ooops!! We had a similar incident happen not so long ago… my son, a bouncy ball and my daughter’s window.
Hers didn’t shatter like that so we taped the dickens out of the crack/ break with duct tape. It was the inner pane of a 2 pane window.
The blessing in this???….I’m guessing you’ll eventually get a new window out of the deal. Months later I’ve still got a gray duct taped window that is in clear view as you pull into my driveway. Lovely… NOT!
And get all the cleaning you can out of the deal!!! Wish I would have thought of that one!!
I know it’s not funny…but…LOL!! Not that your window got broken, but I love your response.

Gee whiz… whoever said girls cost more money because of their frills, bows, dolls, and all that other stuff obviously had no sons!
let me count the dollars…
… spraypainted shed
… popped tire
… holes in walls
… sheets duct taped to wall to make club house
… brother duct taped to wall (didn’t really cost money… just my sanity)
… use of perfume and lotion in CSI lab
… vet bills for “found” puppy whose owner reclaimed him a week later
… haircuts to repair the hair cut he gave himself
… new DVD player b/c they couldn’t put the other one back together after they disassembled it
… and oh the water bill!!
My dear Laurel… I am praying for you, us, right now!! ;o)
Have a bright and sun shiney day tomorrow!
Hugs to you know it is not funny but been there done that. You made me laugh and handled it great.
Smiles,
Angel ():)
oh, oh! Put your feet up while you watch him do all that cleaning. It’ll give you rest for the next round. ;v)
Hang in there. Believe it or not…..you will laugh about this someday and wonder what the big deal was. I know, I know…just not now.
I totally agree with Lisa writes … as mom’s of boys, we need to unite. We experienced this a whole ago and THIS was my taking of it. It worked wonders for the whole family
Oops!
What a wonderful ‘natural consequence.’ Almost makes me wish someone had broken my window….nothing wrong with a child being indebted to a parent!!!!
So sorry you had to deal with this! I hope as you awake this morning, the sun IS out…and the flying bugs stay OUT!!!!
Diane
“is this why mother’s eat their young” HA! LOL! Good question…he is learning some valuable lessons right now and I imagine you might be too.
Yep, the sun came up today in my area, so you aren’t hopeless. I am learning so much about boys through you. I only have 1 right now…
I feel your pain. Boys are agony and ectasy for sure!

“Is this why mothers eat their young?”
Oh my word, I almost choked on my Coke when I read that. LOL
Hi Laurel,
I was just popping by to thank you for your prayers. But it looks like you could use some too! I have always thought that being a parent to boys instead of girls would be easier as I wouldn’t have to deal with all the emotions, drama and high-pitched schreeching but I guess both have there moments.
Blessings & hugs to you on this day-
Jenny
Yikes!!!! Yep, I can definately relate. I’ve got a 15 year old son with a hole in his bathroom sheet rock. Just what happens when he and his buddy wrestle at 2Am!!!
Thanks for stopping by my site to say “hello”.
Oh no.
I am ROFL at Nspired’s comment to “milk it for all it’s worth honey.” That is hilarious and yes, I agree with her!
Oh yeah…have him make you lunch, AND wash the dishes for a week! 13 year old boys…don’t have any but some day I will have 13 yr girls and that’s a whole ‘nuther set of issues!
Bless your heart…you know I am feeling you on this one, being a mom of boys myself. Destructive little boogers aren’t they?
Enjoy the servitude while it lasts…in my experience, you may get about 2 days worth..:))
Lisa
In the scheme of life, a broken window is no big deal!
Boys are so much fun!!!
Blessings,
Sue
My 2 precious bundles of love played Tug of War with a sheet in the bedroom when they were 6 and 7. The 6 year old let go and the 7 year old’s butt went through the window. It was a perfect hole about the size of a beach ball.
Oh how we love this Rollercoaster in life! Right?!
I have no words of comfort, just concern that this is where my future lies… (My son is 22 months old…)
((hugs))
Ahhhh — I’m so sorry you had to deal with this, but man! I’m glad that someone else was in the boat with me this week.
I do congratulate you on the punishment, though
Just happened on your blog and saw this post … is this what I have to look forward to? I have 2 boys and we hope to have another one one day but maybe after this read we will stop while ahead
Just kidding!
Oh my goodness. It’s these kinds of memories that are etched forever on the hearts of our kids. You handled it with grace, and he’ll never forget that (but keep the pic anyway, because he’ll probably retell the story someday with a bit of exaggeration….)!
BTW, love your new profile pic!
