I will be hosting Christian Women’s Online “In Other Words“ this Tuesday the 20th. This is the following quote for the week, it is referring to reading the bible.
Join me in sharing about this quote. Write about it on your blog on Tuesday, and come back and leave a link here on Tuesday to your post.
PS!
As a side note, I guess I could put this on another post but decided not to. God does work all things out for the good. The medical scare I had was NOT fun, but the rest the Lord has given me yesterday and today was very much needed. Yesterday I spent the day in bed, I slept most of the day. Part of it because of the surgery and part because I was just plum worn out from the last two weeks. Now this morning my left side of my face is the size of half of a football and I am still taking pain pills, but I get to stay home and clean and rest. This is what I have been asking the Lord for, rest.
I praise you Father for this time. Thank you that I got to spend time in your word this morning learning more about you, thank you that I can now get caught up on my house work and laundry. Thank you for working all things our for good. Thank you that Iris will be doing Laced With Grace for me Saturday so I can get caught up in everything. Thank you Father for the tons of well wishers, tons of prayers, and tons of private emails that I received. I can not even put into words what they mean because the love I felt was overwhelming. This is what I love about the Body of Christ. Thank you Father for meeting my needs, even when I fail, you are faithful, even when I lack faith, you lift me up, even when I cry out wondering where you are, you are right there holding my hand. I praise you Father and may you bless everyone that reads this today. Amen.
Have a great weekend.

Wow, that sounds like an awful, painful time! I’m glad you’re recovering and isn’t it nice to feel God’s presence in a special way during the tough times? I will pray for rest for you, and complete healing!
It’s fun catching up on your blog… I’m back online after a two-month break. I’ve missed you! I look forward to keeping up with what you’re writing about, as always. (I think the quote above is interesting. I just may blog about it Tuesday.)
Ouch! My heart goes out to you! Enjoy your rest. And know we are saying a prayer for you!
It’s such a privilege to pray for you, Laurel. And I’m sorry that it’s been this way, but sometimes He “maketh” you lie down in green pastures for some much-needed rest.
Great quote for IOW, too! Love ya, girl. Take care.
I’m glad you are able to look on the bright side of all of this. I think my whole migraine episode was Gods way of making me slow down and take some time off too. Sometimes we are so stubborn that we need to be hit with the preverbial 2 x 4 to get us to listen. I hope you are feeling comfortable and that you really are resting.
You have such a sweet spirit, Laurel, I really enjoy reading your blog.
May healing come to you Sister. Know that you are worthy and important to our Father! Finding blessings in storms is a difficult thing….yet very rewarding!! Be blessed in this time, and know that you are thought of and prayed over!
Next week’s quote should draw some very thought-provoking response.
I’m sorry your face is all swollen like that again, but when I think of how this could have gone, I’m still feeling hugely relieved for you. Just take it easy and be good to yourself. And yes, rest.
I am so thrilled that you are doing so much better. And I am thrilled that you have/had the chance to kick back and relax a little. Life is hectic and sometimes God slows us down…
Love the quote. I sure will be working in my head ahead this weekend.
Much love,
iris
So glad you are feeling better!!! I read your post about what happened and OUCH! I’m so glad that is all it was! Thank You,God!!!
Praying for you today!
Kim
Laurel,
I am soooo glad to hear you are resting. I held you in prayer this very day. Rest up my dear Sis….
PS.
I laughed out loud when I read your joke at Laced with Grace and then shared your joke with my husband. He thought is was hilarious also. Thank you!!!
Praise the Lord, Laurel, for how He met your physical and emotional needs! Don’t you love it when our M.O. isn’t what is expected and then we get to give God all the glory! Thanks, Jesus!
Love and Prayers!
I like this quote–you pick good ones. I’m going to try to participate this week.
I am glad to see you back, Laurel. Rest and take it easy for a while.
I know that your grateful heart in the midst of difficult times blesses the heart of the Father. I know it blesses me Laurel. You are a dear, sweet girl. Get as much rest as you can – praying for you.
I am sorry you have had such a painful experience. I have been praying for you. I will continue of course. I hope you have a painless, restful, peaceful weekend! Much love and (((BIG HUGS)))!
Just want you to know I am thinking of you, and praying.
I love it that you can find the good is such a yucky situation this week. (you realize you have children when a word like “yucky” becomes part of your regular vocabulary). Rest more this weekend and leave the cleaning alone!
I pray for complete healing! Continue to allow yourself to rest!
I will see you on Tuesday for “In Other Words”, this is a very good quote, especially as it relates to the Word of God.
Laurel, I’m so happy to hear your good news! We’ve been through major jaw reconstruction 3 times with Mitch and then 2 more times for skin grafts, so I know the process! Rest. Enjoy the meds. Let someone else clean. I’m praying for you!

A Flyover Blog
I do hope you recover quickly! You’ve got a beautiful blog here, and I’ll be back again. I’m also looking forward to taking part in the IOW again this week.
I know I didn’t just read the word ‘clean’ before ‘rest’ in your post!!! I pray that you are doing more resting than cleaning!!! However, I am doing more ‘reading’ than ‘cleaning’ this morning…you should see my kitchen…gotta run…I think the Board of Health is knocking on my door!!
Laurel, you are a beautiful person. I love your honest nature and sweet spirit.
Hi Laurel-great quote. You certainly have given me something to think about this weekend as my husband and I are trying to buzz about planning a party, doing our turn at the cookie booth and volunteering for our family worship service.
